The Rota Vicentina: This long-distance route of 400 kilometers stretches along the west coast of Portugal and offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. The route is divided into two parts: the Historical Route (Caminho Histórico) and the Fisherman’s Path
(Fishermen’s Trail) (Trilho dos Pescadores).
The Caminho Histórico: This 230 kilometer long route takes you through charming villages, past vineyards and olive groves and through beautiful nature reserves. The route is perfect for hikers looking for a varied walk with a rich history.
The Trilho dos Pescadores: This 125 kilometer long route along the coast is ideal for hikers who enjoy breathtaking views. You walk past rock formations, fishing villages and beautiful beaches.

Breathtaking coastal route,”Trilho dos Pescadores”

The route is divided into five stages of 25 kilometers each, but thanks to the transfer service from Casa Inglesa Roosa you can adapt the route to your wishes and physical condition.

Turtle Gorge Pego das Pias (distance: 26 km)
Just 26 kilometers away from Casa Inglesa Roosa is the beautiful Turtle Gorge, also known as “Pego das Pias”. This natural oasis is a paradise for hikers, nature lovers and adventurers. Formed by the Ponsul River, the gorge offers spectacular views of rock walls, waterfalls and emerald pools.
The gorge can be admired via an easily accessible hiking trail that winds along the river. During the walk you will pass several waterfalls, where you can cool off with a refreshing dip. Turtles swim in the pools, which have given the gorge their name. Don’t forget to bring your camera because the photogenic views are breathtaking!
Reservoir Barragem Santa Clara (distance: 35 km)
The idyllic Barragem Santa Clara Reservoir is 35 kilometers away from Casa Inglesa Roosa. This beautiful lake, surrounded by rolling hills and green forests, is a true oasis of peace and adventure. Take a boat trip across the calm waters and enjoy the breathtaking views. Or rent a kayak, SUP or canoe and explore the bays and inlets of the lake at your own pace.

Hiking route Shrine of Nossa Senhora das Neves (distance: 9 km)
The walking route to the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora das Neves is just 9 kilometers away from Casa Inglesa Roosa. This picturesque route of 12.4 kilometers takes you through the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina, where you can enjoy unforgettable views of the Portuguese landscapes. The route to the Shrine of Nossa Senhora das Neves has been a popular pilgrimage for pilgrims from all over the region for centuries. During the walk you will pass several chapels and crosses, which reflect the devotion of the local population.
